Subzero Refrigerator Regular Maintenance

Subzero Refrigerator Regular Maintenance

Subzero refrigerators have a long average lifespan. With regular maintenance, the Subzero refrigerator should last 20-30 years. Unfortunately, there may be occasions when your Subzero stops cooling correctly. It's not only an inconvenience but also food and energy waste. We'll examine a few steps to check your refrigerator when it stops cooling and how to correct the problem.

  • Adjust The Temperature Settings

Ensure the thermostat is set in the middle position - analog thermostat or the temperature settings are 37℉ (refrigerator side) and 0℉ (freezer side) - digital thermostat. If the temperature settings are off, it will cause all kinds of cooling problems. It is easy to bump the thermostat or accidentally change settings when cleaning the inside of the refrigerator compartment or when moving items in and out.

  • Check the Door Gaskets

The door gaskets are essential components of your Subzero refrigerator. Regularly check the door gaskets for damages. Over time, gaskets become worn, loose, or torn. It will allow the cold air to leak and cause the rise of the temperature inside the unit. Regularly, wipe the gaskets with a soft, damp cloth to prevent damages.

  • Clean the Condenser Regularly

It is important to clean your Subzero condenser coils at least once a year. Visit our blog to find out more about how to clean your Subzero condenser

How To Refill Salt Dispenser In Your Miele Dishwasher

How To Refill Salt Dispenser In Your Miele Dishwasher

You'll need to refill the salt dispenser in your Miele dishwasher every time when the salt indicator light comes on. Open the salt dispenser, place the funnel on the dispenser and carefully fill it with Miele dishwasher salt, all the way to the top. Remove the funnel and close the dispenser. Dishwasher salt is a water softener, and when used correctly, dishwasher salt will improve the dishwasher's ability to remove hard water spots, allowing you to enjoy spot-free dishes. Dishwasher salt is different from traditional table salt. Table salt granules are too small, which can cause clogged drains when used inside a dishwasher. On the other hand, dishwasher salt is thicker and does not disturb the unit's normal cleaning operations. Another significant difference between dishwasher salt and table salt is its chemical structure. Dishwasher salt typically contains 100% sodium chloride, where table salt contains additives like magnesium. The additives used in table salt may interfere with the dishwasher's mechanical operation. Not all dishwashers have the ability to use dishwasher salt. Only the units with dedicated salt containers have this option. The salt container is usually located on the bottom left side inside the dishwasher tub. The following video explains how to refill the salt dispenser in the Miele dishwashing machines. Monogram Refrigerator Water Dispenser Not Working

Monogram Refrigerator Water Dispenser Not Working

Problem: When your Monogram refrigerator water dispenser stops dispensing water, it is usually due to a frozen water dispenser line. The water dispenser hose is located close to the ice dispenser door chute. After years of usage, the ice dispenser door chute stops sealing correctly so that the freezing cold air will start leaking. Because of the close location, the water inside the water dispenser tube will freeze up. The ice build-up will block the water flow, and the dispenser will stop working. Solution: First, you need to remove the ice from the water dispenser tube. You can use a tool such as "IceSurrender". Then it would be best to replace the ice dispenser door chute along with the ice dispenser solenoid that stops operating correctly due to excessive rusting. That will ensure proper door chute sealing and prevent future problems. Note: Make sure to replace the water filter regularly every six months. Replacing the water filter regularly will keep your water fresh and keep the strong water flow to the water dispenser and the ice maker. Also, use your dispenser as often as you can to allow water to flow through the dispenser tubing and to minimize the possibility of freezing up again. GE Monogram Repair San Diego

Monogram Ice Maker Fill Tube Frozen

Monogram Ice Maker Fill Tube Frozen

Monogram refrigerator will stop producing ice if the ice maker fill tube freezes up. Ice built up inside the ice maker fill tube restricts the water flow into the ice maker, and the ice maker stops producing ice.  Solution: In most cases fill tube freezes up due to a faulty water inlet valve. Replacing the water inlet valve will solve the problem. Make sure to turn off the water supply to the refrigerator before replacing the valve. Some Monogram refrigerators have a fill tube heater installed that keeps the fill tube warm and prevents ice build-up. Check the fill tube heater for continuity and, if necessary, replace it.  Replace the water filter regularly: Make sure to replace the water filter every six months. The old water filters will restrict the water flow, decrease the water pressure, and cause ice production problems. GE Monogram Repair San Diego

Monogram Pro Cooktops Buzzing Noise

Monogram Pro Cooktops Buzzing Noise.

Monogram Pro Cooktops make a buzzing noise when not in use.  Consumer may notice a buzzing or humming noise even when they are not using the cooktop. Vibration associated with the LED power supply board at the bottom of the cooktop is most likely the cause of this problem. The transformer fins on the LED power supply may be touching the access door causing the vibration noise.  Solution: If there is evidence of transformer fins touching the access door, there are two ways you can fix this problem: First, you can try by using the self-adhesive mastic. Attach mastic strips to the transformer side of the access cover. The mastic will act as spacers and help dampen the noise.  Second, you can replace the LED power supply board with the new one. Models affected: ZGU364LDP, ZGU364LRP, ZGU364NDP, ZGU364NRP, ZGU366LP, ZGU366NP, ZGU484LGP, ZGU484NGP, ZGU486LDP, ZGU486LRP, ZGU486NDP, ZGU486NRP. Note: There is a second transformer on many of these units which supply power to the spark module. It can also produce vibrating noises, especially if the harness bracket above is too close to the transformer.  GE Monogram Repair San Diego

GE Monogram Refrigerator Not Cooling

GE Monogram Refrigerator Not Cooling

A refrigerator is a vital part of any modern kitchen. When your GE Monogram refrigerator not cooling correctly, it becomes a significant inconvenience for the whole household. Especially during the summer, when the outside temperature is high, your GE Monogram refrigerator will work hard and use more energy to keep your food cold. We will explore a few steps to help your refrigerator work effectively and efficiently and to prevent future service calls.
  • Make sure the condenser coils are clean and free of dust. The dust layer on the condenser coils will reduce air circulation used to cool down the compressor. That will result in the compressor overheating and not adequately cooled. When the compressor is overheated, it turns off, and the internal temperature rises.
  • Keep your Monogram refrigerator well packedIt is a misconception that the fridge will work harder if you put more food in it. A well-packed refrigerator is using less energy compared to an almost empty one. Make sure not to block the air vents with your food. Restricted air circulation will cause all kinds of temperature problems in the freezer and the refrigerator compartment.
  • Make sure temperature settings are 0℉ for the freezer and 37℉ for the refrigerator section.
  • Regularly check the door gaskets for splits, tears, or any other damages. Clean the door gaskets and the surfaces from the food spills that can cause those damages every time you open the door.
  • Change the water filter regularly, usually every six to twelve months.
There are several reasons why your GE Monogram refrigerator not cooling properly. Some basic facts could help you solve the issues by yourself. If not, you will need to call an expert MD Appliance technician for an effective solution. GE Monogram Refrigerator Repair San Diego

The Future Of Microwave Cooking

The future of microwave cooking is solid-state power amplifier (SSPA)

The good old magnetron does a high quality job delivering microwave energy in the microwave ovens.  However the magnetron has limitations. It solely has on-off control and the mixture of the magnetron and cooking cavity makes hot-spots and cold-spots within the meals. Use of turntable and the stirrer helps preventing hot spots and cooks meals equally. With the use of solid-state power amplifier we will get faster and more delicate cooking.

Manufacturers of solid-state power amplifiers see it as a powerful potential progress market simply because these units can substitute the magnetron’s function in the microwave ovens. So, will the SSPA-based microwave quickly replace the magnetron-based one in your house? The higher cost of the SSPA (for now) is definitely an issue. It’s seemingly that the biggest SSPA usage will come in commercial settings with their greater efficiency, lower operating cost, and longer life.

Maybe the hi-end microwave ovens will have a label on the front panel declaring “Solid State Power Amplifier Inside".
