Miele Refrigerator Service Mode

How to Enter Miele Refrigerator Service Mode

When your Miele refrigerator is not cooling properly or if you need to view or delete saved error faults, or even to test some of the refrigerator components, you need to initiate the Service Mode (Test Mode). This particular procedure applies to Miele refrigerators models KF18xx or KF19xx. You should perform steps in the exact order as described.

  1. Turn on the appliance
  2. Tuch thermometer p
  3. Touch the refrigerator icon to access the refrigerator or the freezer icon to access the freezer.
  4. Note the position of the "down" arrow. (If the current temperature setting is at the minimum of 36°F (3°C), this icon will not be lit). Touch the "up" arrow to raise the temperature (this will make the down arrow visible.)
  5. Touch the thermometer p to turn off the display.
  6. Press and hold in the area of the "down" arrow. Touch the thermometer p. Release the "down" arrow icon, touch it again 3 times and hold on the 3rd time until an S appears in the display.
  7. Scroll through, using the arrows, to the desired function. Touch the thermometer p to access the options for that function. For example, if F was selected, F– will be displayed after the thermometer is touched.
  8. Scroll through to the desired option. If an option is flashing, then it can be selected. If it is lit steadily, then it has been programmed.
  9. Touch the thermometer p to save the option. It will now be steadily lit.
  10. Touch the thermometer p to exit the list of functions. F (as an example) will now be displayed. Scroll to other functions to make changes, or scroll back to S and then touch the thermometer p to quit.
  11. To quit without saving any changes, close the appliance door or do not touch any icons for 2 minutes.

The water dispenser hose is located close to the ice dispenser door chute. After years of usage, the ice dispenser door chute stops sealing correctly so that the freezing cold air will start leaking. Because of the close location, the water inside the water dispenser tube will freeze up. The ice build-up will block the water flow, and the dispenser will stop working. Solution: First, you need to remove the ice from the water dispenser tube. You can use a tool such as "IceSurrender". Then it would be best to replace the ice dispenser door chute along with the ice dispenser solenoid that stops operating correctly due to excessive rusting. That will ensure proper door chute sealing and prevent future problems. Note: Make sure to replace the water filter regularly every six months. Replacing the water filter regularly will keep your water fresh and keep the strong water flow to the water dispenser and the ice maker. Vibration associated with the LED power supply board at the bottom of the cooktop is most likely the cause of this problem. The transformer fins on the LED power supply may be touching the access door causing the vibration noise.  Solution: If there is evidence of transformer fins touching the access door, there are two ways you can fix this problem: First, you can try by using the self-adhesive mastic. Attach mastic strips to the transformer side of the access cover. The mastic will act as spacers and help dampen the noise.  Second, you can replace the LED power supply board with the new one. Models affected: ZGU364LDP, ZGU364LRP, ZGU364NDP, ZGU364NRP, ZGU366LP, ZGU366NP, ZGU484LGP, ZGU484NGP, ZGU486LDP, ZGU486LRP, ZGU486NDP, ZGU486NRP. Note: There is a second transformer on many of these units which supply power to the spark module.     The Future Of Microwave Cooking

    The future of microwave cooking is solid-state power amplifier (SSPA)

    The good old magnetron does a high quality job delivering microwave energy in the microwave ovens.  However the magnetron has limitations. It solely has on-off control and the mixture of the magnetron and cooking cavity makes hot-spots and cold-spots within the meals. Use of turntable and the stirrer helps preventing hot spots and cooks meals equally. With the use of solid-state power amplifier we will get faster and more delicate cooking.

    Manufacturers of solid-state power amplifiers see it as a powerful potential progress market simply because these units can substitute the magnetron’s function in the microwave ovens. So, will the SSPA-based microwave quickly replace the magnetron-based one in your house? The higher cost of the SSPA (for now) is definitely an issue. It’s seemingly that the biggest SSPA usage will come in commercial settings with their greater efficiency, lower operating cost, and longer life.

    Maybe the hi-end microwave ovens will have a label on the front panel declaring “Solid State Power Amplifier Inside".
